Why clear height matters

The house must accommodate the cage structure, equipment, airflow, lighting, inspection and maintenance access. A design that only “fits” cage height on paper may still operate poorly.

4-tier: more forgiving where internal height is moderate.
5-tier: needs a taller, more deliberately designed vertical envelope.
Existing house: measure beam height, columns and roof structure first.

Adding another tier changes the vertical distribution of birds, heat, moisture and airflow resistance inside the poultry house. Ventilation should therefore be designed together with the cage layout.
