How many H-type cage rows fit in a poultry house? Start with usable width—not bird capacity.
The number of H-type cage rows that can fit in a poultry house is determined mainly by the usable internal width, exact cage-row footprint, side clearances, service aisles and ventilation layout. Bird capacity is checked after the row layout—not before it.
That means two poultry houses with the same target of 20,000 or 30,000 layers may need different row arrangements. A correct layout begins with the building dimensions and the selected H-type layer cage system, then verifies how many rows, cage sets and birds the house can realistically support.

Which poultry-house width should you use for the calculation?Use the clear usable internal width, not the outside building width. Wall thickness, columns, structural frames, equipment clearances and fixed obstructions can all reduce the space available for cage rows.
For an existing poultry house: send the internal width plus a simple sketch showing columns and doors. A width number by itself may still be insufficient if the structure interrupts the row layout.

What is the “row module” in an H-type cage layout?A row is not just the steel cage width. The engineering layout also has to account for the operating space beside the row. For this reason, using only the product width to divide the poultry house can overestimate how many rows actually fit.
The selected H-type battery cage model determines the physical cage footprint. The aisle arrangement then depends on inspection access, feeding-equipment movement, manure-system maintenance and the overall poultry-house concept. Why the maximum possible row count is not always the best row count
A layout should not maximize cage rows at the expense of the systems that make the poultry house operate. Every row affects feeding, drinking, manure removal, egg collection and airflow.
